Do all drop away rest make some noise? Or are some just noisier than others? I put a Ripcord on my bow and it seems noisier than I think it should be. It's not hitting the shelf, When it drops it makes a smack when it stops. Is this normal for this rest? I like the way it shoots with this rest but just seems noisier than my other stationary rest. So are there any drop aways that are really quiet? I thought at first it was my STS i just put on too, but I tried it without it and no difference.

A lot of drop away rests are loud when they smack down. I've silenced a few by sticking a piece of the fuzzy side of velcro where the rest may hit the arrow shelf. The quietest zero contact rest I've used is the Muzzy Zero Effect. Accurate too. I do a lot of stalking out west however, so I've opted for the QAD Ultra Rest. It's worked great for me so far.

Observe where any contact could be made and place a little moleskin or similar material in the contact spot.I shoot a Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter drop away with no noise whatsoever.
