got out for a few hours this morning, went straight out from cotton rd.
drilled my first hole and had fish immediatly. first one, fat 12"er. pulled out 25 or so from there, only 6 more keepers 9-12.5". had a slew of large mouth, some were pretty big. thought a pike had come in the way the perch acted. got up and moved, set up shanty, and first fish i saw was another large mouth. ended up with two more keeper perch from there, then ran out of time. by the way caught all fish on ficious jig, GID tear drop and minnows, forgot waxxies in the truck!

Is there good "walking" snow on the ice or do we need to bring the creepers?
In your opinion, where's the best place to get bait around there?
Thanks.

Creepers are a must!!!!!!!!!!! Dont leave home with out them. Lots of black ice with very little snow.

I agree, need the creepers. there is a bait shop about 1/4 mile south on jefferson west side of jefferson, The Bridge bait and tackle I believe is the name.

Went out tonight 2/8 from 5 til 6:15. Ended up in 5 fow over some sand at 5:15 and pulled them in one by one til 5:45. gold and black jiggin rap with no meat. 22 kept 6-10 inches. threw back maybe 10. Had the bass problem for the first 15 minutes too. They would come in followed by small pumpkinseeds. Hooked a couple of them along with a 12 inch largemouth and decided it was time to move. When the action slowed I put waxworm on the treble and picked away at a few more. Not bad for a hour's fishin. Cousin was out with minnows and picked up the bigger fish with them.
Remember if you leave before 5 you're missing the best action of the day;)
