Just bought a new heater and used it today at Archers. Used the pound cannister and I loved the performance. Seeing I have a 5 gal. tank my son suggested that I buy the hose connection from the tank to the heater. So my question is this. Does anyone know where I can purchase the needed parts? Any place between Port Huron and Lake St. Claire is not a travel problem. Thank you in advance and good fishing to all.

You should be able to purchase the hose kit where you bought your heater. Also check Gander Mountin. Any place that sells, refills propane tanks. I agree with your son, I only keep a couple 1lb tanks on hand in case the bigger tank runs out. Good Luck

I was in Wal-Mart the other day and saw they have the propane adaptor hose. If you are going to use bulk propane I would definitely use a filter. My heater died, can't say for sure it was due to no filter but why risk it.

Hummmm, thats the first I ever heard of a propane filter. Thought they had a filter on the bulk tank where you get your 20 pounders filled, why would you need to filter it again?

Mr Heater recommends you use a filter because of contaminants in the tanks and hoses that will cause your heater to stop working.

Yep, jim....the've had problems with the buddy heaters clogging....I use a heater cooker....and do not need a filter and never any wind blow out problems!! In my book the old style are much better than the buddy heaters!! I have one and I'm not too impressed .....it works good in a small enclosed shanty.....anything after that and you would be better off with the heater cooker!!

The hose on my 10lb tank has started to chip the rubber off the outside, and I was wondering if this hose can be replaced with something other than the hose that can be bought at propane stores. I have access to some hydraullic hose with 3000lb psi rating, and was wondering if the ends could be cut off the old hose, and crimped onto this new hose, and used with out any problems. I was also concerned with the propane eating up the rubber on the inside of the hose. Is propane hose something special, or can any hose be used. Thanks

I wouldn't go crazy on the high pressure hose. Propane is low pressure. I'm not an expert on propane. But I do get gas:lol:

You would need to get new ends. Once they are crimped they can not be cut off and be re-used. Like Ed mentioned, this is not a high pressure application.

I have already cut off and recrimped the old ends onto a new hose, and haven't used it yet. I was just wondering if the new hose would be eaten up by the propane, or it would be ok to use as it is. Thanks
