decided to try something different....started out well past the pack, .65 miles out....water was clear out there, tried it for half an hour and didnt see a fish...my partner was maybe 200 yards further out from me....he caught 3 dinks

moved back in with the pack, and only managed to bring home 22..would have caught a limit had i just set up there to begin with

bite was extremely light...the spring bobber would hardly move

water is still really cloudy where everyones fishing

lost a REALLY big hog at the hole...biggest perch ive seen in a while...well over 12"...looked like 14 to me but ill never know...darn it

This is only a suggestion. When them perch bite that light, go to the tight line method. That is using the yellow line and watch it. If that line so much as moves a tiny bit, drop your arm, if the line curls you got a fish on so set the hook. This method does not work with live minnows, obviously.

Thanks for the report Koby, the only bad news is the water clarity.. Not what I wanted to hear.

yeah, i agree...i really like to sight fish em, that way you can avoid the dinks

but there is an upside to the cloudy water...just my opinion, but it seems to me that when fish show up, they stick around the hole longer and you can pick more of them off then when the water is crystal clear...they seem do do more hit and run attacks when its really clear

anyway, ive been doing really well out there...the GID bead is paying off in a big way...they can really see it in the cloudiness and they bite until its pitch black

the beads are 6mm....i found some at M&M in New Baltimore a few weeks back...i took their last bag so call them to see if they got more in...i also have found them at Selfridge Sport and Tackle a few years ago, but not sure if they have them right now...also, im pretty sure Lindy Little Joe sells them...check their website

Koby,

How cloudy was the water? Could you see you rig 2 or 3 feet or just lose it before bottom? Might head out tomorrow afternoon and wondering if I should bring the VEX or not!

Thanks for the report!
