My favorite duck hunting buddy (and son) is graduating from the Parris Island Marine boot camp this March. He will be on leave for 10 days starting March 9th. As a surprise for him, I would like to take him hunting when he comes home. I was thinking of a pheasant hunting preserve, but I have never hunted one of those places before. I live just north of Monroe. Can you folks be of any assistance ?? I would rather drive a little further for the most realistic (wild) hunt as possible. Thanks.

If you pick Farmland Pheasant Hunters in Brown City I can take you guys out. As a member there I can guide for you and the guest fees might be waived since they are running some specials.

If you need a couple of dogs I run setters and would do it free of charge.:) Are you going to his graduation from boot? Paris island is realy nice that time of year. there is a ton of great golf down there also.

You better not let him take a gun. That MAN is going to come out of there so tough, fast, lean etc. he'll catch those birds on the run.
I hope your proud of your boy. I know I am in awe of everyone of those guys/gals that give up so much to serve our country.

I'd like to thank all of you for the great ideas on where to take my son out Pheasant hunting. I am extremely proud of my son and I really look forward to visiting him at Parris Island in a month (and bringing him home for a while). I will show him all of the notes you folks have sent thanking him for his service.
Thank you guys also for the offers of guiding and helping with dogs. Unfortunately, I am not sure when he will be available to hunt and I hate to keep nice people hanging like that. Also, about him being my favorite duck hunting buddy: I first started hunting with my son in PA when he was about 4 years old. He always loved hunting as I did with my father. Suprisingly, my oldest daughter hunted for the first time last fall (we hunted ducks) at the age of 23. What a wonderful experience that was. And my youngest daughter (19) has promised to go duck hunting this Fall. I am truly a blessed father.
Thank you all again for all of the assistance and your thoughts and prayers.
