Drove by this a.m., noticed a patrol car with a officer standing there, next to the parking lot. Is he there to make sure no one parks past the parking lot,
or preventing access?

Probably to make sure nobody is parking on the street or outside the designated parking lot......They do that every year.....

Do they allow parking on the west side of Jefferson, across from the Mobil station as well?

They used to....but not for probably 5 years or so. I know one year they blocked off the access to the lake but the court struck it down and made the township take down the fence.

A couple of years ago they towed my car alog with about 12 others. I was in the lot, and they plucked me and someone else out of it, I was no where near the road. It cost me a couple hundred dollars to get my car back not to mention a huge dent the size of a basketball. I was just comming in as they were hooking my car up to the flatbed. I argued with the cop and no matter what I said he told me they were taking it.

Chesterfield's Finest is there to enforce the parking! You must stay in the lot next to the Party Store and do not park in the street outside of the phone poles! You can not park across the street cross from the Mobil Station. You must park in the lot just north of LakeVillie Party Store or at the corner of Forton and Cotton and pay Donna $5 for parking!

There has been one guy going from access site to access site in the green truck. He checks in and talks to the guy in the booth and stays for awhile then he leaves. He was at the Selfridge site last Friday. When I went down to the Crocker site and after watching the action on the ice I noticed he showed up there. I have seen the truck at the sites since then.

Talked to him for several minutes after buying an annual pass from the other guy manning the booth. He seemed like a nice enough guy and we discussed ice fishing down here and on several other lakes.

Playing with the camera and got a picture of him.

Well I guess you can't blame them. We know how us ice fisherman are. If its a hot bite and there was no enforcement, guys would be parked all over the place. 5 bucks is a cheep park. Its 6$ at the dnr .

That is a good point. Just that we do not have to walk as far to get to the ice at the DNR sites and on these cold days that could be worth the extra $1.:)

And you wonder why we go to Canada to fish. Never had a problem there yet

At simcoe they have a sign for just about everything. At least around cook's bay. Pressured areas will receive the wrong attention. Canada or the US

I'm not sure if he still allows this but just a few years ago the Bridge bait shop owner let people park in his lot where space was available. (first come first serve). A lot of fishermen parked their trailers and drove their four wheelers down the canal to the lake. If you were walking, it was a way but at least you were on the ice.
