Trout rebound on Lake Superior
Sea lamprey problem still to be solved
BAYFIELD — The lake trout population in the Apostle Island area of Lake Superior is near its highest level in more than 40 years, according to the state Department of Natural Resources.
"The lake trout population is steadily on the rise," said Mike Seider, DNR fisheries biologist at Bayfield. "It's not completely recovered but we've made great strides."
