I've got an opportunity to purchase a 2005 Mathews Classic bow, brand new, never shot. This person won it from a Ducks Unlimited banquet and has never shot it. All paperwork is with it, and he bought a couple items (stabilizers, dampeners) that he never installed. He's selling it because he don't want to switch over because he likes his current bow too much. My question to you is: Do you think it would be a good buy at $300? Have any of you had experience with a Mathews Classic? It appears to be one heckuva bow, lightweight (3.5lbs), and very solid. I'm not fimiliar with any bows, trying to get into bowhunting this year. I know (from what I read), Mathews makes a solid bow. I'm looking to stay around $3-400, and I can get a PSE or something like that at Cabelas for that price range.

Do you think $300 for a New 2005 Mathews Classic is a good buy?

I'd say $300 is a little high for the Classic . I paid $370 for mine new in 2003 .
I don't like the short sight window ,and it has a harsh draw cycle . I'd recommend looking at the Mission lineup if you are interested in a mid price Mathews .
