Well I purchased myself a Savage model 93R17 .17 HMR Saturday!
It was $230 with a 3x9x50 Simmons Blazer scope.I traded 2 .22's LR that they took on trade. One was a marlin and the other was a winchester. They gave me $40 apiece for them.So I actually paid $150 for the gun and scope
and they gave me 100 rds. of ammo for free. Can't wait to shoot it,as there
is another Predator Hunt starting this Thurs. in Iron River,Mi.
By the way, wasn't sucessful this past weekend for the UPPC.
Winning team had 7 yotes, there was a total of 30 yotes and 1 fox for the weekend. The winners were bait sitters,so i was told!
Hopefully better luck this weekend.Suppose to have a heat wave with highs in the single digits.:dizzy:

congrats on the new gun. I have a savage 17hmr and I really enjoy shooting it. For sure people will dog the caliber for its "lack of power" but I have taken coyotes with mine, and will continue to use it. Just know its limits and have fun!

How did the bobcat/trap thing work out this weekend?

I too have a Savage 17HMR and like the rifle A LOT. I'm trying to pick up another varmint rifle so my son and I will each have one for future Coyote Hunts.

Let me know when you are ready to sell it for 40 bucks like you did your other two guns. I will take it.

I dont think you can, it sure would be nice. Try gunbroker.com or gunsamerica.com. These sites are good but its hard to find the gun you want within michigan. It sure would be nice to be able to find guns that didnt have to be shipped to an FFL dealer (because you could go pick the gun up instead of shipping) Later Matt

Yooper,

I too have the same gun and love it I bought mine about 3 years ago shortly after it came out. I wrapped it up in camo burlap. I think of it as my little sniper rifle:lol: I think it is deadly accurate. I know you'll love it.

Haven't heard anything since Thursday night, but I know the CO's were busy this weekend with snowmobilers!!

I got 100 rds of Hornady 17gr that the gun shop threw in ,So I'll try them
first!

This must be a little older gun,No accutrigger.

Incredible little gun, if you want to squeeze a little more accuracy out of it. Check out rimfire central they have a few pointers that really made a difference with my gun. Went from 1 inch groups at 100 yards to .5 groups.
