ice broke up and piled everywhere. the ice that wasnt piled up was rolling with the waves. if the winl lays down you might be able to fish it in about 7 to ten days. it really did some damage last night and today and with the same winds tomorrow it doesnt look good at all even with the artic air we are having. its real hard to make ice in 3 to 5 foot waves, i dont care how cold it is.

007 When are you planning on going? A buddy of mine from work is going up there next week any info would be great so I can pass it on to him.

Lske Erie wave report for the Toledo area for today and tomorrow is 9-13 foot waves. Thinking of going to look at those monsters. Information from the weather report in the Toledo Blade today. Not much ice forming in that kind of stuff.

The fishing was great there before ice up. We had about a 6 lb. average. Hopefully the're still there.

There are people fishing it believe it or not. The only thing is the marina is not accepting cars to park yet.

How far out must you go? I haven't fished Brest Bay in more years than I like to remember (around 30 or so) and may hit it when the ice is back.

Fished in Bolles Harbor today with no luck. Drove up to Breast Bay, the gate was open at the marina but only a couple of cars. Looked out and saw an easy 10 to 15 shanties and people walking. The shore ice was all broke and frozen back over. There were some tracks in the snow leading to the bay but not as many as there were people fishing. Looks like the locals are heading out from private property. I'm going to give it a shot Friday. I'm going to see if my buddy wants to knock off work early and hit the bay around 3 PM. Its along walk but if the ice is safe its worth it. I was out there a couple of years ago on my snowmobile with an 8 year old and as we sat in the shanty I saw two four wheelers fall through the ice at separate times. As solid as the ice was there were some soft spots.

Never underestimate lake erie. those are the locals out there . you will get ticketed and towed if you park where you arent supposed to. there is no public parking anywhere in stoney point and it is all posted . it will be a zoo out there this weekend. hope no one goes through. use your head be safe and stay on top.
