Hey all. Just need a little input please. I have never fished the Saginaw river, because I've always been a little scared. But Me and my ex-stepfather would like to try next wekend and maybe catch a few eyes. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Such as where can I gain access to catch a few fish, and what baits do most use. The only place I know is Wickes park, but I would like to hit it a little further north. Thanks for any help you can give me.

As of friday the wick's park area still had some open water(talked to a fella at gander mountain and he said a fella fell through there that morning)and the ice was still thin.I have been fishing across the street from the sugar plant(I think its pioneer sugar)and have caught a lot of fish but keepers are few and far between.Ice has been 5-8 inches but that will thicken up by next weekend.Silver swedish pimples have been my best produces tipped with half a minnow and a stinger hook.Check with gander mtn. they will more than likely give you some tips on where the fish are being caught or at least were being caught. Good luck !
