Has anyone heard of a monster pike taken from hodenpile(sp?) dam near mesick? I heard some guy caught a pike that was over 25lbs. Just want to know if it is true or not. If it is, is there pictures of it?

Both pics have been on here at least a dozen times in the last year. And they are both real. Check out ESOX magazine and others for articles on the first pic. And the second one was not photoshoped. It would be extremely hard to get the waves to be perferct over the fish like that. And the fish were from Europe. I keep hoping that the huge pike threads would be of different pics but these keep popping up.

I have seen them before too. The fish that I heard of being caught was this last week or so on the holdenpile dam. Also from what I heard it was a young guy around 20 years old or so.

The fish at hodenpyl was caught by Jonathan Wright of Mesick. It was on TV 9&10's Hook and Hunting. It was 46" long and weighed 25lbs. He caught it on a tipup. What a HOG!! It seems every year that a monster is caught there through the ice. I remember my ex's uncle was a pro at it, his best was
a 29lb fish. He told me that they had to spud the hole larger to get her in.

Wish we had pike the size they have over there, I have alot of family in Ireland and they regularly catch fish over 40#. One day I will make it over to fish with them.

This is the pike that was caught on a tipup at Mitchell Lake. Pilgrims village has the same pic and details on their website.

I was aware of the pic and story at pilgrims village. Thats is one monster pike. My biggest pike ever is only 33inches and around 8lbs.
If anyone has a picture of Jon wrights pike could you share it please. I would like to see it.

The pic that gmslave sent in makes the wright pike and the mitchell pike look huge.
If the pic didn't come through, it's also posted in my gallery.

Is the Higgins Lake you're referring to in another state, or is it the one here in Michigan.
