ITs a sweet bow, not as fast as some of the others in the lineup, but silky smooth.

The black ice is the fastest bow in the diamond line for "07". In the bowtech line there's only 2 that are faster with the speed mods on.

Its no slouch, but by bowtech standers its a bit slow. At max ibo of 317 every other bow in the bowtech lineup is faster even with smooth mods.

GH: I understand you're input very much, but we're talking about the Diamond. I know, it's a Bowtech brand per se, but some either can't afford the BT, don't want to drop the money on it, or don't care much about the name/speed. Speed isn't everything when it comes to killing game.

Not attacking you, just making a point. We all want your imput no matter what!

On the otherhand, my buddy just got a Diamond and loves it. He said it felt better and shot better than any other bow he shot and that includes a few Mathews, Bowtechs, and Hoyts. It is a great bow from what I've heard!

I shoot the Bowtech Justice, now manufactured under the Diamond name. I am not sure the difference, if any. But my Justice is smooth and quiet, if the Diamond is anyting like the Bowtech it is doesn't matter the price.

I almost traded my switchback for a diamond this weekend. The black ice isnt cheap, it is the flagship bow in the diamond line and carries a hefty tag. The other diamonds are more reasonable. They dropped the victory which reminded me a lot of the bowtech patriot, both great bows. The justice and liberty were 699.99 in the bowtech lineup, the following year in the diamond lineup the same bows were 549.99 to 599.99, just due to name change. THey have good stuff! Bowtech built their company on the backs of their speed bows. Speed isnt everything, but it sure is fun.

Grouse Hunter,

I got my Justice Bowtech for $589.00 when they first came out. I either got a real good deal or everybody else on ripped off.

The Diamond lineup has several nice models . It's amazing how much a brand name affects perception . Same bow , different name = less money .;)

You got a good deal. As bowtechs rep started to jump so did the prices.

Well like I said, this bow is the ONE that best fit me and how I shoot. I did shoot the mathews, parker, hoyt and bowtech all side by side, and the diamond was the best for me. I'm not saying the rest are bad bows, I'm sure there there not. Just what works for me.

I agree with Grouse Hunter for the money you cannot beat the black ice. It is accurate with a 7 1/2 brace height and isn't really fast but by far enough to get the job done. Its a bow you can have for a long time also since bowtech has a life time warranty as long as you follow guidelines.

What do you guys call a fast/ really fast bow......?

WILDLIFECOWBOY
02-07-2007, 12:06 AM
When I say a bow is fast/really fast I am talking about a bow actually shooting at the chrono in upwards of around 285 and higher. But we all know you dont need your setup to come close to that number at all to achieve a successful hunting setup. If there are people that are speed junkies then this bow isn't the fastest. But its definitely more than enough.

Yeah thats where I saw it also for that price. Although the last time I was in there last week he only had one 50# black ice and not 70# or 60#. The guy in there said he was selling them pretty well.

The guys at G.V sports are good to deal with . No pressure and they let me shoot any they had on the rack. Didn't try to push me into one bow or the other.
