I was talking to a local aluminun paddle boat manufacturer to day and he expressed intrest in making universal mounting racks for the back of ATVs to carry shantys on.Do you think there would be a calling for this product? What features would you like to see in one?...side rail, tie downs ect.?I've put this out on a few sites to see if there would be a good response to them. With all of the treads that come up each season on the subject, heres a chance for the public to get involved in a product they would use from the start....

I replaced my chappel fold down for a clam voyager. But if I still had my Chappel, I think I would want a front rack designed to hold the shanty horizontally, extended past the front of the quad, keeping it say, a foot above the riding surface. This will help to be a wind break as well. Heck, design one, one way so you can have an option to put it on the front or back.
My back racks, I would want racks to hold buckets / bait buckets and gear.

I personally would be interested in a horizontal rear rack for a clam fish trap guide, or possibly a rear drop rack in which buckets could sit below the clam.

Hey roger, Where does your muffler come out on that machine? If it is in the back don't your gear and minnows get full of fumes? just wondering.

I bought the machine in 1995 to use on Lake Erie never had it out either working or no ice, I built the racks about 8 years ago ,I just drive it around the neighbor hood once a month just to make sure it runs. I use buckets with lids ,but I think you are right I will put a exhaust extension it I have some schedule 5 stainless pipe thanks for the idea
