I spoke with my father this morning and he told
me that he was listening to a fishing report on the
radio. The report contained info on tournament
going on in Erie. He said that as of yesterday
there were about 500 walleyes caught in the
10+ pound range, he was unsure of where in
Erie the event was being held but apparently
they were killing them. I would guess that it
is not Michigan based, has anyone else heard
this??

Check the website for the Professional Walleye Trail. Tommy Skarlis won the Eire event out of Port Clinton, OH with 15 fish that weighed 138+ pounds.......

Ted Takasaki had a final day weight of over 55 pounds!

I think this is the link: www.professionalwalleyetrail.com

I would imagine that was the PWT event he heard about going on down to Port Clinton. There was 346 walleye between 10 and 14.27 pounds caught in the three day tournament plus all of the other fish they caught. He is correct about the fish not being released. This was all done per the ODNR though. The fish were all cleaned and donated to the Sandusky Vet. home and the Toledo Soup Kitchen. The ODNR said that the 1800 fish that were caught and kept wouldn't hurt the population of the walleye in lake erie. Most of the fish caught were post spawn females. The ODNR says that the 3-6 pound fish are there best spawners in the lake.
