I would be a first timer ice fishing for walleye in the Saginaw area. I have the basic equipment to fish for them but have no idea where to try. I hope to get a few replies from you guys in the know. I travel from Lexington to 46, go west on 46 till I get to I-75, now what? I read an awful lot about places like Wicks Park, north of the Zil bridge, south of the Zil bridge and other places that I have no idea how to get to. The only area I feel I can get to is the Linwood access. I do have a 4 wheeler for transportation. One last thing, with the reputation i have as a fisherman, there is no fear that I will deplete the walleye population in the Saginaw area. Thanking you all in advance for any info. GOOD FISHING TO ALL.

Once you hit I-75 go north about3 to 5 miles and get off the M-13 exit just before you go up the Z-bridge. Parking is all along the road way. Most people just fish North of the Z-bridge because of more parking area. If wanting to fish the Bay city area then take I-75 to the Wilder road exit and take an right heading east. Go till you hit the Independance bridge and there is parking on both sides at 2 boat launches one on each side.

You also can fish the mouth of the river. It is off Wilder road before you get to Independence Bridge. It is a state run launch, turn left off Wilder at Patterson Rd. there is a traffic light and I think there is a sign for a boat launch then another quick left follow that road (Patterson) until you come to a party store on the right and a bar on the left about a mile or two then turn right at the store and follow that road and it will end at the launch. There are a lot of fish being caught but not much size. I hope this helps and it is easier than it sounds.

thanks a lot for the directions guys. I'll run it in the copier and take with me when I go. Any other area directions will be more than welcome. Once I start making trips in that area I should be able to find my way around a little better. THANKS AGAIN.

Zil or z-bridge is the zilwaukee bridge. Get a mapquest map from your place to Zilwaukee, mi. The exit off from 75 takes you right to the road on the north side of the river that is used.
