was wondering if it would be wise to purchase an fl-12?... compared to an 18 or 20. i dont really want to drop any more than 350 on one but it they are better i guess i could spring for it. i noticed the 12 has a low power mode so is it just lacking the bottom zoom? info is appreciated

i have a fl-18 propack2 for sale for $350 used one weekend. still have the box for it. 12 degree transducer.comes ready to go.

I'd go with the Fl-18 for $350, same price as the fl-12 but you get the zoom. I don't know if you're considering getting a marcum or not. You can get the VX-1, LX-2 both under $300 or the LX-3tc which is under $400. ALL of these units come with a zoom mode.

I wondered the same thing when I bought mine.

I went with the 18. don't regret it one bit.

Given my target fishies-perch and Eyes. I have the zoom on all the time.
