Best night of the season for non stop action. Still nothing over 17" but once they turned on it was incredible. Literally, drop it down, close the bail, set the hook ! Must have caught over 50 easy between two of us. Actually lost count ! Also had a blast watching walleye on the flasher come up out of 16' of water to grab a shad that was swimming 6' from the surface, then go back down, very cool. All fish caught on half ounce swedish pimples and rocker minnows tipped with just a head. I would also like to comment on the ice....We actually went to try a new spot, in 13ft there was less then 2" of ice. This was directly across the river from several guys fishing in 20 plus feet. We watched two fools, did I say fools....I meant idiots ! They walked ACROSS the channel without even checking the ice at all. Guys, you need to know, just because there are people out there, it doesn't mean it's safe everywhere. Ice can vary sometimes from step to step. And when they open the discharge pipe that was very close to where those to guys were, it will wreck that ice fast. You know, if you go in, and theres 50 guys watching you, all fifty just may turn thier heads ! I personally would throw my rope to help someone, but there is a limit on just how close to that channel I will get to do it. Good luck, and be smart out there !

Four to five inches of ice where I fished. Anything with gold was hot last night. Don't get to excited about the weekend, arctic blasts with temps as low as were supposed to get, tend to lock thier jaws quite a bit. Small and slowwww, may be the key ! Not to mention a heated shanty.

about 95% of the people i watched walk out yesterday morning didnt use there spuds till they were out where they wanted to fish...even with this bitter cold 4 inches of snow can insulate that ice enough it can be worn off the bottom not only that but the amount of holes cut in the ice can make for a short trip if you put a leg down in one...still have caught nothing but small fish and have had three bigger fish on..will try again tonight,,thanks for the reports olddog

Fished last night with my Dad and between us we prolly caught close to 50. Only measured one at that was still short. Went this morning by myself and caught 20 or so and didn't measure any. 30fow at the Indy Bridge lots of weight on the ice is causing the slush. No where else have I fished this year on the river or the bay has been slushy there is so many people down there.
