Used to have a cabin on Cecelia years back. Always caught some decent perch towards the middle of the lake in about 28 fow or so..................always a lot of snow on the lake though, must be the hills around it.

Pepper fish are fish filled with little black dots (a type of grub). cook your fish well (no sushi) and there is no problem. when you clean them it just looks like pepper in the meat of the fish. They don't bother me but the little white grubbs ( again harmless) just freak me out.... What kinda catch did you hear good reports on from the lake. Perch, gills, walleyes ??? Good numbers or good size???

When did they plant eyes? When I had my cabin on the lake there weren't eyes in there.
I heard my neighbor used to do some after dark planting of pike he caught from other lakes. I only heard this third hand so can't verify that fact but wouldn't doubt it.......
Nice lake for eyes thinking about it.............good water depths and clear, on the smallish size but still cool thinking about it.

I have never heard of a lake DEVOID of northern pike. Did the northerns get intentionally eradicated/poisoned/fished-out,etc...?
My father-in-law owns a cottage on Bassford lake (less than a mile form cecilia) and everyone on that (private) lake wants the pike GONE, and they try to get rid of them;) . Wondering if such a scenario played itself out on cecilia or if they were eradicated for the benefit of the walleye stocking efforts. Choose walleye over pike:dizzy: ?
So I will never keep a northern pike I catch from Bassford for dinner ( yum!) because I must counteract their evil efforts of esox-elimination!
LONG LIVE PIKE!
