PINE LAKE Eaton County (Olivet)

Anyone fished this lake? I went out yesterday 1/29 and didn't get a dang thing. There were other shanties out there, but I had never fished it and I think I was on sandy bottom in 14 fow. I walked straight out from the bait shop about 15 yards.

I know you can catch crappie out where you where ; maybe a little to the left you will find a reef. The size isnt the best but there is fish there. If you wanna try some great pike fishing head to the left side of the lake about 50 yards from shore and you will have a blast. Bro has a 40 incher on the wall from a couple years ago off a tip up. Also you may wanna try Garfeild Lake just down the road the size of the fish are alot better. Then there is Ackerly and Lake of the Woods right around the corner as well both have good size specks and gills and Ackerly has some monster pearch if you can find them. Just wondering how ackery lake compairs to lake of the wood. Wanna get into some perch. Be out this week trying to find a good spot to fish. Trying to get my girlfriend into this ice fishing thing and she can't seem to catch fish. doesn't help when your vexlar battey dies as soon as I droped my line in the water.;) any help would be apperciated. Lake of the woods has been on and off (killed them one night and the next night slow).

I would say ackerly Lake for the pearch. If you want good specks try Garfeild Lake. There is a island all the way to the right on Ackerly thats where i was told to try for pearch.

Just got home from Garfeild, aaaahhhhhhhhhhh not so good. Got 8 good size gills, no specks. I fished till about 9:30 pm moving countless times to find them (specks) but know luck. Maybe we could meet up one night next week and you could show me how its done.

lake of the woods was rather slow on tuesday. kept 10 or so. fished from 1-5:30. marking them but nothing would bit.:rolleyes: tried even bait and color I had. kinda makes me not want to drive down there tommarrow but i guess you never know.

Was at Pine today, from 2 til about 9. Got 4 keeper perch alot of small ones, small gills (no keepers). Got minnows for crappie but nothing.

When I was there about a month ago. There was a guy set up at dark out there just away from me. If you walked out from the bait shop and the was 12 oclock you would walk ten oclock for about 200 yards. I am not sure how he did. I didn't do well...I didn't have a vex. I do now though.

On pine go off from 27 toward the house all the way across the lake on sw side in about 7 to 10 ft of water its a long walk but usually get some good fish. On ackley go off launch across to boy scout camp or turn right off launch go to about 20 yds off the end of lake. you can also try to go left off launch toward house andfish in about 10 fow always done good on perch there good luck
