Houghton Lake Fish Report

Fished yesterday near Denton Creek. FIshed for about 3 hours and no flags. There was to many machines around that area. Ice there was about 5 incehes with 1 1/2 inches of slush. Sunday morning we went out by the airport and caught 4 pike within 3 hours. We had four flags and caught three. The other came jigging with a minnow. Ice, there was about the same and a little more slush but no snowmobiles.

Sounds like a better weekend than I had on some southern inland lakes. Few gills and no pike. Gonna try Houghton Lake this week and weekend once I head back to Midland for the week. Always have some luck on HL on the south shore weedbed off the DNR launch.

We fished all day Sat. out from the DNR launch (S Shore) basically straight out from the softball game area. Had 3 flags, one pike (24", released) and a bunch of dink perch.

Couldn't believe no one else was fishing out there, usually it is pretty congested in that area.
