Lots of people and good solid ice north of the bridge. Not too many fish caught though. I only saw three iced, two of which were mine (18" and 13"). I'm just glad we've got good ice.

One thing to keep in mind. When the contest is on and a guy fish's in a shanty, you won't see many of the fish. I know you will never see mine. Quickest way to lose a spot. Even worse on the bay. Guys will lock a spot in on the GPS and when you return there will be an army there. Even after the contest I hide my fish. Once I get to shore I don't care if others see them.

What, a state fan coming up here and catching our walleye? What is happening? Just playin. Glad to hear that you at least got one keeper. Not hearing of to many keepers being taken.
I will agree with Kingfisher. Alot of guys/women keep there fish inside there shanties. Even though I didn't enter the tourney this year, I never put my fish outside the shanty. Carry a bucket with me and put the fish in there inside the shanty.
Half the time fishing with my dad(s--step and biological) and brother's, I don't even tell them when I catch a fish, or what kind, lol.

Saw open spots of water in the river on the way home yesterday.

YS,
We were fishing north of the Z-bridge last evening and just off the channel I would say we had 3" max under us. Tested a few spots farther out in the channel and 3 easy hits with the spud went through. The current is still pretty strong in the river so the faster areas and pinch down points won't freeze as well as other.
Be careful out there!

That is a very good point. Many folks were in shanties and if they kept quiet they could have caught a ton.
