Has anyone had any luck catching walleyes at night on the saginaw river?
Seems like everyone fishes during the day?

I have tried going out several times over the last several years between 10:00p.m. and midnight, in several differant locations. I have never had any success. The eyes are cruising the shallow flats feeding, but i've never got them. I doubt you'll get bit in deep water at night. Once in a while if there is no dusk bite, I have stayed and found them to turn on just after dark, but only a few times. I feel if they don't turn on by dusk, it's usually a barometer or moon phase issue !

I stayed out on the river last year for about 2-3hrs after dark. Mark'd alot of fish, but never had one hit. But, that is now saying that people are not getting them after dark either. I just keep trying and trying. Sooner or later, i'm gonna find some 'eyes that are willing to bite once the sun goes down.
Good luck
last time i fished by the z bridge just when we got ready to go at dark, 2 guys came out and set up shop. and i mean set up shop, they had a grill , pillows so they could take turns sleeping, 2 cases of barley pop. i walked over and gave them my minnows and we talked about thier madness. they claim that it really gets going around midnight:yikes: it was the middle of feb and it was coooollllddd.looked like they were gunna have a good time though.
