I have a question for the varmint callers. I chase yotes with hounds and something that I have notice is that crows will hang out by yotes and follow them while he is walking through the woods. Have you callers notice the same thing?

I don't remember seeing that but,I have watched tape's where the guy's would use crow tape's in their caller's to bring in yote's.

Not a big coyote hunter or anything, but I have heard this on a couple varmint hunting shows. I was watching one that said that crows and hawks will follow fox and coyotes around when they are hunting and get the scraps.

Not sure if its true or not that is just what I heard. However, when my dad and I caught our first grey fox there were about 5-10 crows in the tree across from where the fox was. Maybe they were just there resting or they might have been there waiting to see what the fox was doing.

Crow (even goose) calling and dekes have brought 'yotes in for me as well as 'yote calling and a deke or two has brought in crows. Seems they are curious as to what the other has come across and worth taking advantage of.

I call in Crows quite frequently while calling/hunting Coyote. It just happened to me today at 3:45 pm. I started calling with a rabbit in distress call and the crows came flying in within seconds. Two minutes later, I dropped a Coyote in it's tracks as it tried to circle downwind of me.

Seems like Crows and Coyotes like to scavenge whatever food they can find. I'm sure they compete for meals quite often.

Also, I saw two Bald Eagles this afternoon snacking on a deer carcass. One of the Eagles flew over while I was calling for Yotes.

I have often had coyotes coming in to distress calls and to coyote howls as well, i wonder if they come in to see if they can grab a snack of whats left.

Also, I'll second them on being scavengers, we have a few beaver carcasses and a couple of fox carcasses out in the woods and the crows flock to it.
