I have a 16ft. smokercraft with a 21in. transom and a 25hp. evenrude longshaft prop.
Short of going to a jet motor, would a jackplate help me get into those shallow spots easier? I`m getting a little tierd of chewing up my prop in the spring going after the bedding steel.
Any advice is welcome.

Macs River Runner prop/skeg guard would also help.

Hey guys I`m sorry I havent gotten back sooner.
With snowplowing and all.
I`ve considered all three of your suggestions. And since I`m on a budget
(and who isn`t) I think I`ll try the River Mac guard.
I saw one in cabelas for around 80 bucks. If that dosent work I`m going with a 40 horse jet. Thanks again for your suggestions.
