I am contemplating taking Friday off to fish the Saginaw. I DO NOT want to be venturing out on shaky ice, so what's the deal? I would assume it's pretty good out there now by the Z-bridge.

Still had open water out from the boat launch on the south side of the Z-bridge on Tuesday afternoon.

Pockets of open water in downtown area also.

Be careful and good luck.

I have been fishing south of the bridge for two days, no open water!! The ice is 3-5 inches and there were quite a few people fishing today. Lots of small fish, today we caught 75 small ones and not one keeper in 4 hours. There is open water north of the bridge!!! The current is ok it takes a # 9 jiggin rapala to keep the line down.

Two people we caught 13 fish but not a keeper in the bunch, still fun if you have fish on your line fish! :)

I am sorry for yelling....

BUT IT IS ALWAYS WORTH TAKING TIME OFF WORK TO GO FISHING...EVEN IF YOU DONT CATCH ANYTHING.

If the ice wasn't safe, there are plenty of other small lakes nearby :)
