Fished this morning first thing til about noon. Sun was out, water was clear, and there was 3-4" of ice. Sat down in the first spot 2-3 fow, little jiggin action and there they were perch everywhere, too bad they weren't much bigger than my minnows. Moved out to where the ice must of broke off and froze back to shore ice, looked like a good spot, and same thing nothing but dinks. Maybe sitting in 4fow. Biggest of the day was 7" with a lot of dinks around. lots of people out for a wedsnday, talked with the dnr on the way out, checking creole counts or whatever, and he said that no one was doing good that he had talked to.
:coco: Where are the fat pigs I am in search of?

How crazy would it be to cross the pressure crack and go out a little further?

I don't know about you, but I would not be crossing any pressure cracks this early in the season. And when the ice gets a little stronger and you do,Please watch the wind you can get blown out in that Bay.Otherwords a SSW wind would be unfavorable.Again be carefull out there we don't want to lose anybody.

As Ted said watch the wind. It's blowing out stay within site of any pressure crack but if it's blowing in n you know the ice you can go out as far as you like.Good luck out there.

That's kind of what we were thinking today. The ice was decent and we questioned how come no one, even on a bucket, crossed that crack. I also thought that a ne wind @ palmer could be terrible, I would venture a guess, that those two guys and their 11 kid who were caught on a flow last week, that the wind was out of the north and the west. Anyway thanks, good luck and ya, be safe!
