Dan the am bite is usually better than the pm.But with perch you never know when they will show up.

If you want perch save your time, seriously. Palmer has been lousy for almost a week now. Most of the perch you will see are just a little bit bigger than your minnow.

I guess its better than work, but don't get yourself too excited for nothing.

MuskyDan,
I just got back from palmer today, 4 of us guys fished for 3 1/2 hours and one 9 inch perch. and not another keeper seen. I wouldnt waste more time at this point, I've been hearing better reports from linwood off of linwood road boutell and parish for perch. Not alot in number wise but size is unbeliveable my cousin went out last night in thre foot of water and came home with a dozen jumbos all over 10 and even 2 13's. Damn him always trying to out do me. I have heard only 10 or so reports off these roads but all the same story dan just big in size but not so big in numbers hope i help you out buddy.

I think that percheye hunter is right, after todays the lack of size trying somewhere else may be a wise idea.
let us know what you come up with

If you do go to palmer, get out as deep as you can and fish till a little after dark. Use bigger minnows with one rod being a jigger. Might get a supreyes.

You will still pick up a few 'eyes in the shallow waters either in the early am or in the pm. Have gone out there in the afternoon for perch, and end staying a little bit after dark, and picking up a few eyes. They will and do move into the shallows.

So don't forget a jiggin rod for the walleyes after dark.
