I`m looking for the manual for my 1954 3hp Johnson outboard.Clymer(the publishing co.) manuals only go back to 1956.

Any suggestions where I might find one?

Thank`s...Duckman

The library. Seriously, ask at your local library. They can search through most of the other libraries in the county and across the state. If they find one you can look it over and see how much is different from the 1956 edition and motor.

BTW, there is a large group of libraries that belong to the Macomb County Consortium and I think that Sterling Heights is part of that group.

Here ya go....

Here's a link to the main page and I looked through it and located what should be the one you need. That's the second link.

http://www.kencook.com/evinrudejohnsonmanuals/index.cfm?fuseaction=items.main&boat=JM%20Outboard%20Motors&orderby=year

And here's what I think you need.

http://www.kencook.com/evinrudejohnsonmanuals/index.cfm?fuseaction=models.main&year=1952&ID=110566

These aren't cheap but are well worth it. I bought a full set for my '64 Evinrude and it was worth every penny! These are basically copies of the original FACTORY service manuals and MUCH better than Clymer IMO.

Good luck

John

No problem. You're very welcome. I love searching for hard to find things. I'm a pretty good scrounger. :)

I found that site and they carry just about any manual you can want for most big name outboards. I too held off a little and looked high and low but couldn't find sufficient information when my old 'Rude needed work. I finally broke down and bought a set from Ken Cook and was very happy that I did. Once I got them it was pretty easy to find the information I needed.

Take care

John
