hey all i'm looking at a new rest for my bowright now i shoot and xi lengend set at 70lbs with carbon arrows and a thunderhead 125. never had a problem with this set up in the past and still shoots nice but i notice my rest keeps comming loose now and i wear the plastic guard out quickly.just would like some insight on what is a good rest. i hunt just about every day from october to january and probably put 150 to 300 arrows a week into the target. i love the bow and went threw alot to find this old bow and i am confident shooter out to 50 yards

I've shot with a trophey taker fall away for about three years, and I love it. Its not the best rest for hunting because you have to be careful about catching the cord on brush while going in and out of the stand, but I have yet to have a problem with it. When setting it up I just kind of eye balled it and when I paper tuned it I didn't have to do much tweaking at all. It is also the quietest rest I have ever used. I didn't even put felt on it this year for hunting. When the felt is added there is absolutly no noise at all. I would go with some type of fall away, but thats just my two cents.:)

I really like Quality Archery Design's Ultra Rest Pro Lock Down. This is a fall away rest that gives you total containment before the shot. You can flip the bow upside down and wont loose your arrow. It's great for stalking! Another rest I liked was the Muzzy Zero Effect. Looks crazy but its silent as can be.

TT here too, but I bowhunt with a WB. I know some are partial to the WB, but any shots under 35 yards......I have seen no adverse effects. Now, if you go out to 65 yards, you start to see minute changes in impact.
