I know guys get a few browns here and there fishing for eyes through the ice in tawas but was wondering if anyone actually targeted em with any success. I know they used to plant a bunch in jerry's marina so i would figure that might be a likely spot. I appreciate any info

Mike, they still plant a bunch there. Fishing can be good and alot of guys fished for them last time I icefished there(04'). Fresh brown spawn in dime to nickel-sized bags work the absolute best. Most people use minnows, usually in combination with spoons. I would put out a fat shiner(put a small RED bead right before the hook) with a split-shot on one rod, and a bag on a slip rig on the other. The eyes are best at night or really early in the morning. Early morning/late evening is best for browns, but both can be caught throughout the day, especially browns. Use light line, 4-6lb, or just run 6lb flourocarbon, especially on bright, sunny days. We did good this winter on browns in the tribs all along Huron, so they should be out there in number, some hogs too, good luck man.

my buddy fishes em in jerrys marina. he uses small swedish pimples tipped with a wax worm. i guess he gets perch, browns and walleyes on the same rig.

last year i was fishing for perch near jerrys with a pimple, had one take a swipe at it. just happen to have a walleye rod with a do-jigger on next to me, droped it in jigged it a couple of times and the fight was on, what a blast. 12# male, what a blast
