can anyone show some pictures to setup winter/ snow dirthole sets or is there a better set for canines to use with this fluffy white stuff rainning down?

fishinglink,
A dirthole set made during the winter time is no different from a fall dirthole set, except the hole is normally made a little larger in diameter. Also you will have to bed the trap in some freeze prove dry dirt or some bone dry anthill material.
Some dirtholes can be made no larger than the size of a mouse hole, but when snow is falling, it is better to make the hole three or four times the diameter of a mouse hole.
In fact many trappers use a fairly large dirthole diameter, even during fall trapping. It more a matter of personal preference and what makes sense at a particular set location.
I have even use a regular sized shovel to dig a dirthole to catch fox that were shying away from my regular lured dirthole sets. By placing the trap just at the edge of one corner of the extremely large hole and not placing any lure or bait in the hole, I managed to catch this set wise Red Fox.
If you have coyote or fox in the area you are trapping and the snow doesn't get too deep, then a regular dirthole set should do the trick.
Good Luck!

you can also use waxed dirt to cover the traps so they'll still pop.
or, to make it look natural, use a piece of wax paper over the trap, then snow over the wax paper. if snow melts and freezes, it wont fire through the trap, you have higher likelyhood of either pullout or nailcatch.
