Give me a run down. Step by step what do you do? How you get out there, how long before calling, calling sequence, etc. Has it worked for you?
I'm starting to think that calling in the thick stuff is better up here in the U.P.

I go out, freeze my butt off at several stands. Then, cursing the song dogs, I go home and try to warm up. Only luck I've had, is bad

Alright, here it goes. First slip out of your truck quietly, no slamming doors and such. Sneak to your set up. Generally you want to have a fairly open are to watch over. i mostly set up (and have noticed in many yote hunting videos) that you face the direction that you expect a yote to come from and have the wind blowing from your right to your left or vice versa. That way you should be able to see the yote trying to slip in down wind of you. Hunterhawk and i have used electronic callers and hand calls. From my observations, hand calls work the best for us and in the videos. start off soft (in case a yote is close) then after 1 1/2 min. start getting a little louder. make the 1st set of calling last about 3-5 min. Then every few min. give a short amount of calling. Just enough to keep em coming if they are. Once you see em' just use your lips to lip squeck. No sence of being real loud and making more movment than you need to. stay on your stand for 30-45 min here in Michigan. They will hang up sometimes and just watch. remember, dont make more movment than you have to. if you move your head, move it as slow as you can. Always pay attention to your down wind side.
They can see you even if you cant see them!!!

Stay downwind of area you think coyote's are in.I like to keep wind in my face if possable.I seem to do better hunting the thick stuff[I think that's where the coyote's spend most time anyway]I try to hunt edge area's[like a hardwood ridge that drop's into a swamp]I call 10-15 sec. wait 5-10 min.I stay on stand a full 45 min.jan.-feb. I start out with prey sound's,then throw in howl's after 20min.or so.I've called yote's in all time's day and night,so go whenever you have a chance. At night I like to set up on frozen snow covered pond's/lake's.I use a shotgun both day and night[day hunting I use #4 buck or dead coyote shot, nighttime I use dead coyote shot or mag.copper coated bb shot]If you got snow I don't think you need a light when hunting at night.Watch the wind, don't over call and you will kill coyote's.:)
