What time of the year do you get the best deals on new bows. I'm looking at a Hoyt or a Mathews.

I think right now anyone selling bows is trying to reduce their 2006 inventory to make room for the newer models that will start to trickle in. Anyone trying to buy a 2007 will be hard pressed have a seller reduce their profit margin unless they have some sort of relationship with the manufacturer or the person who is selling the bows. Why should they reduce margins on the 07’s when they already doing that on the 06’s they have in stock? They need to make money when they can so they can stay in business so the general public can have someone who can support and service them. With the exception of the archer who can perform the work on they need on their bows themselves. I personally think they would be willing to negotiate sometime between when they get past the people who rush out to get the latest and greatest and a about a month or so before opening day when the procrastinators rush out to buy a new bow just before the archery season begins. The last new bow I bought was a 2005 model that I bought in July of 2005 that they were willing to negotiate on the sticker price. Hope this helps!

I'm open on it being an 06 or an 07. What you said makes sense. Thanks.

try the new hoyt Vulcan.... thing is swweet.... my choice for 07 in the hoyts. Also check out the new bowtech its pretty sweet. But for sure look at the vulcan it doesnt shoot like a typical speed bow with a 6 in brace. Hoyt pro staff are shootin it on indoor leagues!!!

Talk to me partner, -- about that Vulcan.
You own one? You've shot more than a few arrows through it?
If so.............what's your draw length? what poundage do you have it set at?
What kind of speed are you getting out of it with what weight arrow?
Can you gimme a range on what to expect on retail pricing?
.............................................
I too am looking for a bow with some oomph..........Hoyt's Vulcan and Mathews' Prestige are high on my list of bows I want to spend some quality time with.
I did shoot the Prestige.....after a good heads-up by GVDoc.....I liked it a lot even though the DL was long .......but it did aim instinctively for me and it surely was zippy at a 58#DW.

I did not look at what they were or how much they were but Gander Mt on 29th St in GR has a bunch of bows on clearance. I'm still shooting a ProLine Point Blank that I got in High School, don't see reason for a new one yet.

Last year at some of the hunting shows around the state I saw bows for half price. I was looking for a Hoyt Vtec at the time and they had them for $350. Brand new the previous season they were in the $700 range. I would check the upcoming Hunt expo at Grand Rapids or Birch Run.
