If so, what type of compressor should one buy? From where? What type of kit to get? Where do you go to stock paints? I'd rather shop in person than on-line for something like this but am looking for a little winter hobby to paint old lures and duck decoys. Trying to figure a way to cure cabin fever without any ice to fish through if ya know what I mean. Any info is greatly appreciated!

I have air-brushed a few lures. I forgot what kind of kit I used but almost any good kit will do the trick. I used to work in body shop so I had unlimited access to just about any color in the rainbow, and other neat stuff. The owner does all his lures for his charter boat with glitter that you ad in a clear base-coat. Then he would put clear coat on them. I have seen some of that kind of stuff at walmart in the automotive section. As for compressers, they make air-brush compressers. I'm not sure of the price but I think around $40. Any lacuer paint will work as long as it's thinned out enough. Good luck!

Hobby Lobby carries a pretty good line of airbrushes and compressors. Some are spendy while others are real spendy. As far as paints alot of tackle shops are starting to carry a small supply of glow colors and colored clear coats. There are so many variables from epoxies to powders to color and visual additives that the list could go on forever. Once you find a brand that works well for you the net is a more suitable tool for supplies.
