I used to spend every waking hour training for weekend races, every last dollar on bikes and the garb that goes with it. Spend all summer planning my trips around the state and country for different races and events.
When I went up North every day was spent riding. The night was for fishing the Au Sable.
But that all changed when I bought a fishing store.
I now have a $5000.00 road bike, $3000.00 mt. bike, and a couple of spares collecting dust. It's driving me crazy!!!!!!
I guess I'll be riding to work this summer!
If any of you want to come up to do some riding, call me at the store.

The other factor is that you can fish and drink beer!

Chad...do you have any spare parts laying around you might want to get rid of? I have a cheapy mt. bike but would like to upgrade the front shocks and cranks.

Let me know,

When I was a kid, my bike was the tool that got me to my fishin' hole! Thankfully, I still see kids riding bikes with fishing poles doing the same thing! They're not all stuck inside playing on the computer. It does conflict with fishing though, but so do many other hobbies (not to mention that ugly four letter word...Work)! There just isn't enough time in the day to do it all!!

Normally for me I go out to Stoney Creek and bike ride in the trails for 3-4 hours. Then I head off to the South or North Dam, and fish for a while. I pretty much keep my fishing and biking even :) If I can find a aluminum boat with a trailer soon I won't be biking as much though.:D

I bought a telescopic pole just for riding to my fishing spots.

Shakespere Excursion, the only rod I own with foam grips. It has served me well and I have no immediate plans to replace it.

I have a less expensive 3-piece Pflueger flyrod that I strap to my bike frame and ride to fishing spots.
A small backpack carries the rest of my gear and lunch.

A few times last year, I took a day off work and rode Paint Creek Trail from Rochester to Bald Mountain, and just stopped and fished when the mood struck me. Lots of fun!
