I've got Gander and BPS gift cards burning a hole in my pocket. Planning on adding a few chatterbaits to the arsenal. I'm guessing a lot of you already have.
Questions - do you prefer the original or the any of the knockoffs?
Do any brands seem more durable than others? Specifically the split rings and clips for connections?
I've also heard of difficulty with solid hooksets with original, have you guys had this problem? If so, is it common across brands?
Thanks for any thoughts

I like the original. Set the hook like it was a spinnerbait.
I like white and shad colors.
I also have a freind who makes his own and they work just as well, perhaps better than the original. $5.50 a piece. If you're interested let me know.
While it's not one of my "go to" baits, I have caught fish on them, and never an undersized one either. That makes it the ONLY lure in my box that can make that statement.

Wherever you would throw a spinnerbait... or a crankbait for that matter. Weed edges... stickups... bottom cover... versatile bait.

Nope. Throw one anywhere on Fremont Lake. But be prepared to get a sore arm from casting them soooo many times without a hookup! LOL!!

I have become a fanatic about these lures:yikes: . this will be my 3rd year using them. I bought some in the fall of 2005 didnt have much luck. I had caught a few fish. However in 2006 I have caught 2 salmon, 1 Wally, Numerous bass, LG bluegill, 3 Pike. I just love them in the River. I havent had much luck in Lakes yet, however I dont fish alot of lakes. But the lake I did fish near Jackson Michigan I caught fish all day on them and they average 3.5 to 4 lbs. I just have bought the 26pcs kit at Dicks and it has Trailers you can add that make a world of difference,
It has a weeedless Flippin chatter that Im dying to try........Good luck this year!! Chatter King:coolgleam
