Pinpoint 3700 operates independently by the digital lcd display and keypad on the head of the unit. I hooked up my Eagle and transducer to the motor and it worked fine.

Sold my boat last year without this motor. It worked well on my 17' Crestliner. After install you calibrate the electronics to adjust for straight.

contour trolling: You are able to set or lock in on a contour for example 12.3'. Your motor will lock in and stay pretty much on that contour as long as it can, provided it doesn't get blown off by a big gust of wind or you are not fishing a relatively flat area. If you are fishing a flat, expect to manually control this motor. It needs a dropoff to contour troll. This motor has a variable speed and a reverse. If you go across some fish and want to turn around and go back over them, hit the red button on the side of the foot pedal and this motor will search out deeper water to turn around in and search the depth out that it was previously locked in on; in this case 12.3 feet of water. Minor adjustments can be made to depth by rocking your foot pedal back or forward. the motor will automatically increase or decrease the depth of water you are in, in increments of .1 feet. If you want to move deeper by a foot rock the foot pedal forward until the LED on the motor reads 13.3 feet and level the foot pedal out to remain at that depth.

shoretrack: This motor can lock you in on a specific distance away from the shoreline. Be advised that the head of the motor is at some depth in the water and this won't be an accurate distance but relative. I have used this feature pitching cranks to bass along shorelines or keeping a specific distance from shore when pitching cranks or jigs to walleye.

Creek track: I have used this feature mainly to help me understand where the deepest part of the water is in some back water creek channels. This feature works pretty well when I want to keep the boat in the deepest part of the water while pitching to the shallows on either side of the boat.

All the above mentioned features are automatic to this motor other that you initially telling it what to do. The motor will try to compensate for wind and or current. In most cases it does this pretty well. - See More Here: http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=5554
