Yes, a few smaller lakes (20-30 acres) went from open to iced-over last
night. Some ice on the bays of the bigger ones. Won't be long now....

Not sure about cedar and vanettan, but it got down to 15 last night (again)
so i'm thinking the've gotta at least have a skim on them.
I live on the western side of iosco county and don't get over to Oscoda to ice
fish much. I spend most of my time on the backwaters of the ausable.
Cooke, alcona, and five channels are my favorites.
As far as lakes, Long Lake and Loon are good inland lakes to fish.
The DNR regularly stocks these with walleye.

Can anyone tell me how much snow Alcona Co. got this past week?
OscodaAsh

Alcona Co. got about 6 inches of snow which hurt the ice making. Alcona pond may have a few of the smaller bays froze over. Foote pond's landings are but the main basin is not... sure its the same on Alcona. Derek...PM me with what species you'd like to fish and i can point you in the right direction.
thanks OscodaAsh, I figured another week anyway.
Tight lines!

Just wondering if folks are running snowmobiles on the area trails. I want to fish but the kids want to ride. I have a little cabin on Pine Acre Rd on the N side of the AuSable, the road across from Gordons bait. Just wondering if people are fishing Loon Sh*! Bay yet. That is just walking distance for me.

I think I will wait until next weekend to come up, I heard you have 5 inches of snow in the Hale area, any truth to that.
I need to get up there as I have a snowmobile that was not running right when I put it away, it needs to get to a shop up there. Anyone you would recommend with a phone number. it is a 96 V Max 600. Close to Glennie/Hale only.
Reguardless I want to fish, I feel like why fix it so they can tear it up again, all part of the fun, it started running bad after it hit a tree, yes the front end looks like heck. I loved that sled.
