Did anyone happen to be hunting off of M-18 between Meredith and Prudenville this weekend? My Cousin and a friend were running hare with beagles and someone picked them up. They had them on the tracking collars for a while and then they vanished.
Spent 5 hours Saturday and 8 hours Sunday looking for them and never got a hit on the tracking collars. Please PM me with any info... Thanks

I am happy for you. It is day 9 for me and mine are still gone. You can read my story down in the Lost & Found Forum on this site.

I am convinced someone picked up my dogs. I took my male beagle to the same area Saturday, and after barking on scent for a short period, ended up back at the house 150 yards away in a matter of a few minutes. I have a funny feeling my females did the same thing, only when they got up to the road to cross, someone offered them a ride and they are gone. My dogs love riding in the car and truck. After being gone for 10 days on vacation, my dogs were just over excited at being out and running, and they would have gone with anyone.

Anyway, I'm holding on to some hope even though I think they're gone for good. I've responded to about 6 calls from folks who have read one of my flyers, or heard about my dogs gone. Each time the beagles were someone elses. Funny how there are so many loose beagles running around.

Glad you got your dogs back.

The dogs were running a hare and started heading South. They had them on the tracking collars and drove to the south end of the section and couldn't get a signal. Returned to the north end of the section and no siganl. Looked for 4.5 hours Saturday and then back at 5am on Sunday. No siganl anywhere. Searched until 2pm and they had to leave. Talked to several houndsman in the area and swapped phone numbers with a few. Got a call yesterday morning at 10 am from an elderly lady stating one of the dogs showed up at her house with the tracking collars still on 2 miles south of Meridith. Gotta believe the went for a ride with someone. I'm just thankful they were recovered and really grateful to the elderly lady. My friends wife drove up and picked up there dog at the lady's house then spent a half hour trying to catch the other and finally got him. Thank heavens for honest and caring people. Good luck on finding you hounds and don't give up hope. My dad recovered a female years ago that was lost for 3 months.

You would be amazed how fast hounds can get out of an area..buddy and myself were running beagles one day in heavy wind..they went out of hearing, one came back in the other 2 didnt...got out the tracker no signal....went back to the truck and got out the wildlife tracker reciever with the yagi antenna and picked up the signal...went four miles to locate them..they had been out of hearing for 45 minutes....old dog had taken a coyote track and suckered in the young one...when we located them they were running a bunny around a bean field to make themselves look good

When I used to hunt coon hounds for fun and competition. I would put my Name phone number and the words "Reward If Lost" on the Name Tag. I always had phone calls when they were lost.

Flooded timber has that on his colars also. I told him luck would have it, that the person who found the hound would think 'Reward' was it's name.
