Fished out of Bolles Harbor today (saturday), got started around noon. Realized I had no net in the boat! DOH! Never to fear I had my new lucky hat!

Water in tight was very muddy, with lots of floating debris. We found a patch of cleaner water in 16-17fow straight out from Toledo Beach. Boated 9 Walleye!!

All fish came on Shad-Raps, 2 on Blue/silver/orange, the rest on black/gold/orange. 80-85 back off in-line boards, 2.0-2.1 mph, 50 deg water temp.

Tried stick baits to start, but the fish wanted larger profiles, other boats that ran, Tots and Warts reported similar results, All other presentations were slow.

The fish weighed(1) 10.7lb,(1) 9lb, (3) 6lb, (2) 5lb, (2) 3lb.

You can see the pics in my photo gallery, I just can't figure out how to post them yet!

Okay! only took me an hour of playing with the new picture gallery to figure out how to do this!

This fish doesn't look it, but she was 10.7lb! You'd think my buddy Scott would have been smiling.

I grabbed all 9 of these fish by hand, because I left my nets at home. My fingers are shredded, but it was worth it.

We only lost one fish for the day and it wasn't because we didn't have a net, we never saw it!

Boy I'm feeling lucky!:D

P.S. two of the fish were spawned out hens, I usually release them, but after reaching in their gills, I decided to keep them. They will be put to good use. We know some folks who will be glad to eat them.

Thanks guys!:)

SKI, there were only about 20 boats out fishing about 50 acres of relatively clean water, most of them were jigging or casting with very little luck. the fish were post spawn on the prowl for food, so showing as many fish as possible your bait was the ticket! (notice the speed 2.0-2.1, in april! go figure? I do believe in breaking the rules!). next time I think I'll bring a net next time, if it's all the same to you!

Thanks whale, I prefer the 3lber's, but that was my single best total weight day! About 55lbs!

Marc, I think I can manage to grab a couple of the "FIVE" nets I have hanging in my garage by this weekend! Cut me a little slack!

I had my Quad tore apart, all the camping gear scattered all over the garage, my boat stored in the driveway instead of the garage, and 3 hours friday night to put it back together after getting it back from the shop!

I'll be ready!
