For my birthday today, I went ice fishing this afternoon. Arrived at the UP lake & started walking on the ice. I look up in the sky & see a Bald Eagle; it was circling a bay on the lake. Decided to fish the bay; thought it was maybe a sign from the bird. Got to be about 4:30 pm & all of sudden the flasher starts showing lines almost on the bottom. I'm thinking that it's a school of small perch; but I was wrong. The first fish was about a 9" bluegill & then a 11" black crappie; it was bluegill & crappie mixed action for almost 30 minutes. Also caught one pumpkinseed sunfish. Let most of the fish go; kept a few fish. It was a great birthday present from mother nature. Good fishing to all. Jeff
