Hi All: First posting on your excellent forum. I have a I Finder Hunt c coming soon. :) A lot of features for a newbie to try and figure out. Anyone familier with this unit? It was difficult to decide between Garmin and Lowrance. Another hunter friend has had good luck with Lowrance for many years so I wound up going with Lowrance. Only thing missing on it seems to be the peak fish and game activity tables:sad: . Thanks in advance and hope you all have a good new year........Tom

and :Welcome: to Michigan Sportsman (and to the world of GPS).
I'm a Garmin man so I can't help you with your GPS, but I am sure there are many here who can. I'm sure you will enjoy your new unit.

You can live without those. Heck, IMHO, the peak fishing and hunting times are whenever I am able to get out and participate in those activities.
Search this forum for threads on your unit--that may help you a little. Most of all, when it comes, sit down and play with it. I spent a whole day, when I got my first GPS, with the manual and the GPS in my hand in simulation mode--went through 3 sets of batteries.

Thats pretty much my plan when get it. I have a set of rechargeable batteries so perhaps they will do OK for my practise sessions at home. Another fellow hooks his unit up to a battery via a cigarette lighter connection and that apparently works well and saves on batteries. Yes as far as the peak hunting and fishing times you make a good point. Its pretty much when I build up enough brownie points and the wife will let me go. This thing costs more than my 15 foot spey rod or my hunting rifle so I hope I don't lose it! Kinda thought perhaps someone may had one for awhile or got one for x-mas and had a chance to play around with it for awhile.
