Well fellas its that time again time to dream of my summer fishing vacation. It will be my wife and I and we prefer to stay in the lower penninsula. I have gear for everything from walleye to panfish. We are leaning toward fishing for panfish this year with some bass or pike or walleye fishing. Any ideas?

It may be to late but get in contact with the people that run the Lake Ogemaw cottages in West Branch. I PROMISE you you will catch all the panfish pike and bass you will want. Its the best lake i have ever fished.

If you can get in tell me and i will tell you all the hot spots. I fished that lake every summer for 15 years of my 18 being alive. To bad my godparents had to go and sell there place on the lake. I believe the cabins are a little pricey but the fishing is worth it to me.

Check out fletchers pond. You can easily catch 50 pan fish in a half hour on the lake. Just go towards the western side of the lake & look for green stuff, which is everywhere, and fish. Tones of big blue gill, perch, rock bass and crappie. Also some of the best bass and pike action any where in MI. We go every year. We fish mostly for bass and pike along the main channel, but before we go in for the day we fish for gills and such for about a half hour to get our limmits for a good meal. When fishing for bass & pike use safety pin style spinner baits, rattle traps and shallow running cranks. You will catch plenty. There are plenty of cabins, campground and lodge rooms to rent. Also plenty of boat rentals to chose from. If you need any more info pm me. The best lake in Michigan in my opinion for big bass and pike. Check out Jacks Landings website for info.

long lake, alpena...hamlin lake,ludington.....lake leelanau, traverse city ..paradise/carp lake,carplake/paradise lakes cadillac/mitchell,cadillac..all have resort/cabin rentals and offer pretty fair panfishing and walleye(walleye not present in fletchers..but agree it to be less frenetic than most lakes due to all the stumps n weeds..and some of the best largemouth and pike fishing in mich).hamlin and leelanau having the proximity to other stuff(sand dunes ,great lakes shoreline, casinos, golf courses etc) plus the scenery....leelanau, with approx 18 miles in length(north/south combined)plus a navigable river(cedar), hidden lake and shallows to depths and variety of species(rock bass, perch, bluegill, sunfish, large and smallmouth bass, pike, walleye, lake, brown, rainbow trout ,ocassinal splake , a rare brookie, ciscos plus gars, bulheads etc..offers about the most species of any inland waters with the exception of Gull lake..you are in the middle of cherry orchard country and might be a choice if you would prefer not to deal with the weeds n stumps of fletchers p.s. we also have enjoyed bear lake, near manistee tippy dam pond, wellston ostego lake, gaylord blacklake/onaway
