Well after looking around on the Dnr website for a while and not being able to come up with any answers for myself I thought I would ask. I know that several of my beaver ponds that I trap have a population of brookies. Is it legal to ice fish these ponds, or do they fall into some kind of trout stream regs? Maybe I would be better to ask this in the law forum but I think this is the place to start. I'm sure there may different rules on different kinds of ponds, some are backwaters of small creeks and some a spring fed ponds.

Anybody know?

Give me the gps locations on those beaver ponds so I can check them out to see whether they are open or not.;)

Seriously most of the streams that have beaver ponds on them are the ones that are open only open from the last Sat in April through the end of September. Those streams are the ones that show up as light blue in the trout regulations booklet.

I saw as monster brookie a couple times in a beaver pond that made me think of becomming a poacher. What a beauty in spawning colors in the fall.
