Forecaster discussion 1/5/07!!!!

Significant changes (or should we say more seasonable) are in the
cards during the long term portion of this forecast. Reasonable
agreement in the global models that a large chunk of modified
Arctic air will spill into the Great Lakes this weekend into early
next week then another brief warm up before a large chunk of Arctic
air spills into the plains later in the week. Obviously details
remain but it looks like winter will finally arrive.

Don't know what forecast your looking at but I just looked at the 10-day for Saginaw and there is not a single day that will stay under freezing temps during the day and ony 6 out of the 10 nights are going to dip below the 32 degree mark.

Between the 15th-19th (as now, probably will change as usual:rolleyes: ) AccuWeatehr states that the high tems will be between 20-33 degrees while lows between 4-11 degrees:D . HOPE IT STAYS THAT WAY. I checked the site yesterday and the same days showed, but the temps were way higher...Who knows. Weather men have problems predicting tomarrows weather, now there trying 15 days ahead. Cant be trusted 100%, its just nice to see to make you feel good:lol:

At what rate does ice form? Are we talking like a 1/16" per day or is it temperature dependant?

I’m trying to be skeptical about the weather. Last night, I went and bought a BRAND NEW SNOWMOBILE. Just kidding. I bought a new tip up. I feel bad for those who did buy a new sled. :lol:

I saw the same report. I think we finally have something to look forward to. I don't put much faith into accuweather/weather channel, but when the local guys (especially WOOD TV8's crew) start talking, I have reason to hope!

But...this time it will actually come true, the El Nino is disipating and the Artic Air will finally make it's way down to us, i think we will now see a long, cold winter.
