Could anyone tell me which ramp would be best to get out to channel after dark? Thanks Tim

I forget the name - but the one on the south side about mid-lake is supposed to be about the best for larger boats ...

It depends on your boat. There is one very close to the channel on the south side, on a dead end by the golf course and a bed and breakfast. It is great for smaller boats, and very close to the action. If you need to put a large boat in now with the shallow water, you will need to go to the municiple launch most likely in on the North East corner, in Montague.

PineIsland is refering to Lakeside Inn at end of Scenic Drive. It was barely usable still filled with winter sand to start season and I don't think the dock is in yet. Small boat yes - big boat no. I'll be in the area and check it again tomorrow to see if it has been cleaned up this last week.
The Montague launch is usable, but watch out for the wood debri and new sediment drift from the Ellenwood Marina dredging (in progress) that has filled in much of the channel from the Montague launch. The Ellenwood dredging has caused damage to White Lake everytime.
The Lakeside Inn launch is the closest for the channel. Note new Fruitland Township rules which restricts number of boat trailers. Trailer parking only on West side of road up to corner only. Single cars on Lakeside Inn side of road. There are other more rules coming soon.

We ended up at the pay ramp just over the river in Montague which was 10 bucks. Of the other 3 we looked at 1 was closed right next to channel and the other two didn't have enough water. But at 3am it is very possible we missed a ramp or two. Thanks Tim

This evening I took a ride to the Lakeside Inn - Scenic Drive launch on the south side of White Lake closest to the channel. There were 5 boats out and one just launching as I got there. They all used 4x4 trucks because the winter sand is still covering the cement pads. The dock is in place. There is deep water just off the cement pads, but note that the ramp is 1/2 pad short next to the dock. You must be careful not to drop your trailer wheels off the end of the pad.
The boat that was launching did not get any browns trolling in the morning and were going after perch for the evening. The perch were closer to the channel in 55-feet depth off the old post office.
