I have a pair of these pilers, they cut everything from little fine braids and tippets to big muskie leaders with ease. Spring action open. Although a bit on the hefty side, they are really comparable to a pair of Van Stalls Stainless or Pescadors, only over a hundred bucks cheaper.
An Esox best buy.;)

Tell me, is there anything related to fishing you DON'T have?

LOL JP. I have tried a lot of stuff over the years. There has been a lot of culling of stuff that just couldn't make the grade. Unfortunately my basement is full of stuff that did. I saw these were on sale, I have paid way more in the past for similar quality. I picked a pair of these up in a hurry after leaving a pair of Van stall Titaniums somewhere by Grassy on a bumpy day. (Note to self DO NOT leave anything you like on the dashboard.) Since, I have never looked back and considered getting another pair if Vans.....But they all cost too much when they are on the bottom of the lake.

Hey now there's an idea! And I understand that Paul's pretty good at cheap home made lanyards too. ;)

The kids got me a pair of Xtools floating plyers for Christmas. I've only used them twice so far and I'd give them a thumbs up at this point. They cut braid with no effort. We'll see how they stand up to the riggors of tournament fishing come summer.
