I have a younger brother who is special needs person.I was watching a show on PBS where a fellow by the name of Tony Semple had taken group of Young people out on a ranch for a management hunt.It got some wheels turning of how Rod would love this he would sh#* him self if he had a chance just to see some of those bucks come in.Is there anyone out there who can help in my quest?

You may want to contact someone at the Legends ranch in Bitely. I think they have a hunt like this every year.

You might try this as well.

They also have a forum, which might be helpful. It is here: http://dhnaforums.proboards3.com/

Their mission statement says "regardless of age". They might be able to help.

Steely,

It is a wonderful thing you are trying to do for your brother. If your brother has ever been in contact with a Social Worker, or State support organizations, they may be helpful in finding a foundation or group that supports these requests. I also found this link through the Buckmasters website - looks a little dated, but there is some contact info there.

Good luck!

S.C.I's "Safari Wish" program is primarily geared toward children with terminal conditions, however will check with the local chapters to see if they able to make arrangments for your brother.

If it doesn't work out, I would be happy to provide a free ranging hunt for your brother. I can't promise a wallhanger, but I will put deer in front of him.

Not sure of your brothers condition but he can apply for the disabled deer hunt for the Shiawassee federal. Its a 2 day hunt with a shot gun or muzzel loader. They have 2 different hunts, Nov 15 and 16 or Nov 17 and 18. They only take so many hunters for these hunts but its almost a guarantee he will get drawn. I've done this hunt a few times and its a great hunt, lots of deer and a chance to shoot a real monster. THey have nice pop up blinds with heaters and you can go with him and sit. I'm 40 now and i've been in a chair for 14 years now so I know what its like to need help but you just have to keep plugging along and keep doing the things you love. Instant message me if you have anymore questions and good luck to your brother!!

I hunted a beautiful wall hanger all fall. Saw him several times during archery season. Saw him opening morning of firearm season running for cover, with all the local hunting pressure I figured he went completely nocturnal. I shot a decent 8pt. that evening and low and behold Big Boy was with him but I did not know it until he bolted when I walked up to tag the buck I took. Got a real good look at him from 40 yards as he ran by.

To make a long story short it was like a chess game with him the rest of this fall. I saw him several more times but never had a chance for a shot. He is still walking and if he makes it until next fall, and if your still looking for something for your brother maybe he can have a crack at this bloke. It's gotten personal between him and I. (lol) I consider him a buck of a lifetime for me.

If all else fails, you could get the family together and chip in for a gift hunt. I've seen in the past these preserves have reduced rates for people with disabilities.

Good luck
