Spent Christmas week in NC at a condo on the outer banks with my family. Its supposed to be the hot fishing time for striped bass along the coast, but fishing was extremely slow. I would have loved to hook into just one of those big boys!
We had a charter scheduled that ended up canceling due to the lack of fish. We ended up fishing off the "catwalk" at the Oregon Inlet using live eels! That was a change, exciting and weird. No fish, but wow, it was an experience!
That's why they call it fishing and not catching. Maybe next year.
